Eric Singleton

Eric Singleton has more than 18 years of top executive leadership experience in a variety of industries and Fortune 100 companies. He began his career as a technologist early, rising quickly in his late twenties where he began what was to become a fast paced ascent as a top executive and CIO for such companies as Honeywell Aerospace,  Honeywell Automotive, Raytheon, and Columbia Energy.  Along with an already intense schedule, Mr. Singleton became deeply concerned with volunteerism in America and was appointed technical director for the nation’s first “City of Light” under the Bush (senior) administration.  He and his team developed the first expert system designed to match volunteers to needed work efforts nationwide, and the software garnered a Smithsonian nomination that same year.  Looking for greenfields outside manufacturing, Eric dramatically shifted gears to the fashion industry when he founded his own firm in 2001 and began consulting at some of the world’s top designer brands from New York to Milan.  Tommy Hilfiger Inc. made him their CIO in 2004 and he helped steer the company toward its successful sale in 2006.

He has led multiple global IT, Internet, and supply chain transformations and has an extensive background in this area.  Eric also holds a variety of software copyrights primarily in expert systems and artificial intelligence and has been the recipient of the Carnegie Mellon award, Smithsonian awards for manufacturing, business, and government, the Microsoft Pinnacle award, CIO Magazine Top 100 CIO’s, and numerous other awards for achievement in technology, business, and e-Commerce.

As a columnist and advisor he has had of many articles published in Computer World, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal among many other publications.

As a product designer, Eric successfully co-created Motor TrendŇ Autotech, donating $1 million of this software to state educational programs after the product reached global sales status.  Mr. Singleton continues to support various educational programs by contributing expert system software he has engineered for this purpose.

To relax Eric is a competitive sailor and racer. Beginning at age 5 under the guidance of his father, he ultimately crewed on the America’s Cup Winner Courageous for three seasons and won the Americas Cup Jubilee Classic Yacht division aboard the Americas Cup Winner Colombian 2001. In 2006 Eric also crewed in the Volvo Extreme 40 series, and was guest crew in Valencia, Spain for the most recent Americas Cup.
